Niagara Grandview Manor is located just a short 5 to 10 minute walk from the American and Horseshoe Falls along River Road. Enjoy this easy stroll along this quiet residential street next to one of nature's most majestic creations.

The Walk

The American Falls are located directly behind the Rainbow Bridge and are visible from your room balcony. From our doorstep, guests will exit and start walking south along River Road towards the Rainbow Bridge. Enjoy spectacular views of the Niagara Gorge on your left as you meander down this River Road towards the Rainbow Bridge. On the west side of the street the architecture of century old homes can be enjoyed. As you reach the bottom of the hill, the first attraction that you will encounter is Niagara's own Bird Kingdom. Bird Kingdom is a world-class attraction where people of all ages can encounter exotic birds, animals and reptiles. Be amazed as you enter the world's largest free-flying indoor aviary. Watch exotic colourful birds fly and play in this multi-level rainforest.

Continuing south along River Road will bring you directly under the Rainbow Bridge which was constructed in 1941. After passing under the Rainbow Bridge Plaza, guests which wish to walk across the Rainbow Bridge should turn immediately right and walk up the stairs to the main level of the bridge. Guests which wish to view the Falls and Queen Victoria Park should proceed straight ahead and within a short distance, the American Falls will be directly in view on the left hand side. On your right hand side, guests can enjoy the amazing floral display of Oakes Garden. Constructed in 1936, Oakes Garden combines a curved pergola overlooking a central amphitheatre, rock gardens, lily ponds and shrub borders which have been incorporated into formal gardens with attractive ornamental iron gates.

At the base of Clifton Hill, the American Falls and Niagara's Hornblower Cruises are now within view and guests should venture up to the viewing platform where an amazing view of both Falls can be enjoyed from this vantage point. Niagara Hornblower Cruises are the absolutely best way to discover the majesty of Niagara. They will take you on the ride of your life! An intimate tour that gets you as close as possible to the breathtaking flow of water, power and mist that is the magnificent Niagara Falls.

Clifton Hill with its wide array of museums, restaurant, night clubs, and shops are easily accessible by turning right at this intersection.

Proceed further south and you will formally enter Queen Victoria Park with its wide expanse of open green spaces which can be used to relax, picnic, and explore. Within 10 minutes guests will find themselves at Table Rock and the Horseshoe Falls. At the Table Rock complex, guests can access the Journey Behind the Falls attractions where they can descend to the base of the Horseshoe Falls and enjoy a fabulous view of the millions of litres of water cascading over the brink of the falls every minute.

There is more to discover beyond the falls by continuing your journey further south along the rim of the Niagara River. Enjoy stunning views of the Upper Rapids and the Old Scow before reaching the Toronto Power Plant. The Toronto Power Generating Station is a former generating station which was completed in 1906. The power plant ceased operation in 1974 and has now been designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 1983, due to its importance in the development of business, industry and technology in Ontario. Enjoy the stunning architecture of this building as you continue your journey further south along the Niagara River.

Opposite the power station visitors to Niagara are encourage to visit the Niagara Greenhouse. This colourful attraction with its collections of orchids, succulents and other tropical plant species are on display throughout the year, along with floral shows that reflect the changing seasons. Flying throughout the greenery are colourful tropical birds that may sing for your entertainment!
